Ian Alexander Martin [IAM] is the Proprietor of Atomic Fez Publishing, and was Commissioning Editor and Director of the publishing concern Humdrumming, Limited, and for nearly a year was its Acting President and C.E.O. As well as formerly being an actor and theatre director based in British Columbia (the westernmost Province in the Dominion of Canada), he also was the Founding Editor and Publisher of the theatre magazine The Boards.
As a stage actor, he portrayed everything from God, to circus show workers, to literary critics, and countless servants far brighter than their masters. On film he was been seen as an Evil Mime Criminal (Bricklayer), a man recoiling in horror as Poe’s wife coughs up blood (“The Black Cat”, Masters of Horror), but mostly as fuzzy blobs in large-budget films.
As a theatre director, he assisted on productions of Pericles, Prince of Tyre and Long Day’s Journey Into Night (nothing like a bit of light comedy to get your feet wet, eh?); and directed the première of Cowabunga, as well as a critically acclaimed production of Caryl Churchill’s Cloud 9.
He lives in Burnaby with his wife, plus two small cats who are determined to make as much noise as possible until they are fed; all three of whom occasionally succeed in dragging him kicking and screaming from the keyboard.
